WOODBRIDGE, Va. (CBSDC) — A fire at Pfitzner Stadium sent one person to the hospital for smoke inhalation on Friday.
The Prince William County stadium, which is home to the Potomac Nationals, caught fire just after 5 p.m.
Firefighters were first called to the scene for a reported gas leak, but discovered the blaze upon their arrival.
The fire was primarily contained to the second floor administrative offices at the stadium.
The man who suffered smoke inhalation was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
After the fire was extinguished investigators remained on the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
The Potomac Nationals, are the Class-A Carolina League affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
The team was scheduled to play a road game against the Salem Red Sox Friday night.
