WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - NASA is introducing itself to the tech world with a new mobile and tablet app.

The space pioneers have released an application that will bring you up-to-the-minute information and updates from the International Space Station.

“Space Station Live!” allows users to see what the astronauts do minute-by-minute while they are actually on the space station. Features include streaming data that lets the public see the latest information on temperatures, communications and power generation.

NASA suggests that the app will be helpful to teachers because they can use it to assist their daily teaching outlines in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. “Space Station Live!” would also allow students to tour the space station and mission control operator consoles through virtual 3-D models.

The app is available for smart phones and tablets and can be found on NASA’s website and is also available through the Google Play and iTunes app stores.
