Former North Carolina sophomore forward Harrison Barnes, Syracuse senior forward Kris Joseph and Northwestern senior forward John Shurna all worked out for the Washington Wizards today as the Wizards hold the third pick in the upcoming 2012 NBA Draft. Barnes, 20-years-old, 6 ft. 8 inches, 210 pounds, is a definite possibility for the Wizards with the third pick.
Barnes averaged 17.1 points per game in his sophomore and final year at North Carolina while playing 29.2 minutes. He also shot 44% on field goals and was 35.8% from three last season.
“It went well,” Barnes said. “I felt like I shot the ball well. Obviously it was tough competing against Shurna and Kris Joseph, but I felt like it was a good showing.”
Joseph (who played his final two years of high school at Archbishop Carroll in Washington, DC) and Shurna could be possible second round choices for the Wizards. Joseph is 6’7″, 215 pounds and averaged 13.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and shot 42.1% during his senior year at Syracuse. Shurna is 6’9″, 215 points and is first all time at Northwestern with 2,038 points, 130 games played and 136 blocked shots. Shurna averaged 20 points per game his final season and shot 46.3% from the field while shooting 44% from three.
