ATLANTIC, Va. (AP) — Seventeen educational experiments will be on board a rocket set for launch this week from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

The launch is scheduled for Thursday morning.

University instructors and students from across the country built the experiments. The 35-foot-tall rocket is expected to fly to an altitude of about 75 miles. After launch and payload recovery, the participants will conduct preliminary data analysis and discuss their results.

The launch is part of Rocket Week at the facility. More than 100 participants are receiving training in building payloads for space flight, learning rocketry basics and developing activities for the classroom.
