WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — An elderly woman and two children suffered serious injuries when they were struck by a care near the Maryland – D.C. border in Northeast Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Eastern Ave. NE and Kenilworth Ave NE around 5 p.m.
The driver of the car that struck the pedestrians jumped out of his vehicle and fled the scene.
Police in the District describe the fleeing driver as a black male with a light complexion and dreadlocks. He was wearing a white t-shirt.
The infant suffered a large gash and was in an out of consciousness according to D.C. Police. The woman was said to be bleeding.
The age and sex of the other victim was not immediately known.
