The matchup we have been waiting for has finally arrived. The Washington D.C. product Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder are squaring up against Lebron James and the Miami Heat in the NBA finals.
Sam Amick from Sports Illustrated joined Holden and Danny to preview the upcoming finals duel and also discuss the NBA draft that’s quickly approaching on June 28th.
Holden and Danny chimed in and said this seasons’ series will be one of the most exciting NBA finals in recent memory, drawing similarities to the classic matchups between Larry Bird and Magic Johnson back in the mid 80’s.
Amick compared the legendary Celtics, Lakers matchup to what he expects to see from Durant and James.
“To me that is the exciting part, this legitimately could be this generations version of that,” Amick said.
Meanwhile, the NBA draft is swiftly approaching and there are a lot of directions the Wizards can go with the third selection, but Amick believes the right choice would be in the Kansas Jayhawk forward Thomas Robinson.
“The combination of the game and attitude would be tough for me to pass up if I were the Wizards and if he is there,” said Amick.
Another player the Wizards may be interested in is the guard from Florida, Bradley Beal. The Wizards are still lacking a quality shooter opposite of point gaurd John Wall and many believe Beal would be an ideal fit. Although Amick doesn’t think the Wizards should take Beal, he still believes the 18-year-old has the potential to be an all star.
