WASHINGTON (AP) — A Prince George’s County judge has sentenced a former Metro employee to one year in jail for paying workers for hours they did not work.
According to the county state’s attorney, 52-year-old Alfred Atanga falsified some employees’ time sheets and gave them double time and overtime that they did not earn. Atanga was also ordered Monday to pay Metro $9,100 in restitution.
Atanga was convicted of two charges of theft in March.
