FORESTVILLE, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County police say a driver has been killed in a fiery crash in Forestville.
Cpl. Larry Johnson, a police spokesman, says the driver struck a telephone pole on Marlboro Pike near Forest Village Park Mall about 3 a.m. Thursday. The crash brought down wires, which caught fire.
Johnson says Pepco workers cut power to the lines, allowing firefighters to extinguish the fire. Firefighters then found a driver inside the vehicle. The person was pronounced dead at the scene. No details on the victim have been released.
Marlboro Pike has been shut down between Donnell Drive and Lorring Drive while authorities investigate.
