Woman Arrested After Allegedly Trying To Steal A Baby On A Bus

DUMFRIES, Va. (CBSDC) - Prince William County Police and Dumfries Town Police responded to investigate a possible attempted abduction which was reported to have occurred in the area of Main St and Graham Park Rd in Dumfries.
The caller, a 16 year old female of Dumfries, reported to police that she was riding an OmniLink bus in the area when she encountered an unknown woman. The woman, Terrie Wilder, asked the female if she could hold her son who was less than 6 months of age. When the female refused, the Wilder grabbed the baby seat from the mother and attempted to take the child. The female was able to hold onto the seat preventing the Wilder from actually taking her child.
The bus driver stopped the bus and ordered the Wilder off. Police later encountered the Wilder in the area of Quantico Gateway Dr. As police were speaking to the her, she punched a Dumfries officer in the face causing minor injuries and was arrested and charged immediately after.
