Md. Man Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Rap Artist
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County police say they have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a local rapper last year.
According to court records, 29-year-old Dennis Mackabee was arrested Monday on charges related to his alleged role in a drug deal that turned into a robbery and shooting. Mackabee has been charged with murder and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery County District Court on Wednesday for a bail review hearing.
Police say Franklin Amobi, a 24-year-old rapper who performed as “Frank Diggy,” was killed on Dec. 27. Amobi was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 11400 block of Stewart Lane.
Detectives are continuing to pursue the man who they say pulled the trigger.
