TAKOMA PARK, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a witness to an attempted carjacking in Prince George’s County chased a suspect into Takoma Park, where the suspect was later arrested.
Chief Ronald A. Ricucci of the Takoma Park Police Department says the situation began when a man with a knife tried to take a car from a woman and her children at a shopping center in the county about 2:40 p.m. Saturday.
Ricucci tells The Washington Post that the witness pursued the man on foot from the scene of the attempt into Takoma Park, but the man eluded the witness.
He says a Takoma Park officer with a dog found a man in woods around 5th and Orchard Avenues
Ricucci says the man was taken into custody and turned over to Prince George’s County police.
