Maryland Basketball Adds Logan Aronhalt From Albany
According to InsideMDSports.com, Logan Aronhalt, a 6-3 shooting guard from Albany, will be a Senior next year and provide some depth after the transfers of Terrell Stoglin and Mychal Parker earlier this spring. Aronhalt averaged 13.8 points and 4.3 rebounds last season for the Great Danes. He shot 35.5% from behind the arc last season, but shot 40% overall, and has a strong game inside.
Aronhalt did struggle against the bigger competition he faced this season. In games against Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Maryland and George Mason — Aronhalt averaged 15.25 points, but shot just 35% overall. That’s not terrible, but Aronhalt shot just 21.9% from behind the arc in those four games.
Those are more like the games he’s going to face week-in and week-out in the ACC. Aronhalt won’t start, but he’ll be a solid player off the bench. Aronhalt will have to be a shooter off the bench for the Terps in 2012-13.
Aronhalt is taking advantage of the “Russell Wilson Rule” and will be available to play immediately for the Terps. His other options were Purdue, Kent State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. According to the Baltimore Sun, the kinesiology program was a major factor in the decision process.
