In the “Our Gang” films released between 1929 and 1931, there is a hilarious character named Chubby. The actor was a Baltimore native by the name of Norman Chaney.
And after all of those laughs, you’d be shocked to know he’s buried in an unmarked grave.
Now there’s an effort to change that. Money is being raised to buy the best headstone possible for Chaney, who is in an unmarked grave in section “e” of Baltimore cemetery.
Among those leading the effort is musician Mikal who found out about the situation while researching “Our Gang.” Mikal says, like many actors back in the day, Chaney and his family never received any royalties or residuals.
