ROCKVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) — Two people were shot at the Rockville Metro Station Friday afternoon.
The incident stemmed from a dispute that involved a BB gun and escalated around 2:40 p.m. inside the pedestrian tunnel of the station.
A 16-year-old male suffered life-threatening injuries in the shooting. He was the intended target and a known acquaintance of the shooter.
An 18-year-old female bystander was grazed by a bullet and sustained non-life threatening injuries. Police say she did not know either the other victim or the shooter and was not involved in their dispute.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital.
The suspected shooter in the incident was taken into custody shortly before 4 p.m. Police also recovered a handgun believed to have been the weapon used in the shooting.
A second suspect was detained shortly after 6 p.m.
