WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Famed “Godfather of Go-Go” Chuck Brown is in the intensive care unit of a hospital battling pneumonia.
The 75-year-old musician was originally admitted to the hospital for complaints about his arthritis. However, doctors discovered blood clots in his legs and subsequently removed them according to 9News Now.
During his hospital stay, Brown developed pneumonia and remains in the ICU at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
Brown has been absent from the music scene for roughly two months which prompted some online speculation that he passed away.
The musician’s daughter, KK Brown, who also performs in his band, is asking that fans continue to pray for her father’s recovery.
All of Brown’s tour dates have been suspended. A statement on his website reads, “Mr. Brown’s tour schedule is temporarily unavailable pending his recovery from a recent illness.”
