COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County police are searching for three men in connection with a carjacking near the University of Maryland campus in College Park.

Police say the carjacking occurred about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 4500 block of Hartwick Road, about three blocks from Fraternity Row.

Authorities say a 35-year-old man was trying to open the door to his vehicle when the men approached him. Police say the suspects assaulted and robbed the man before taking his car.

The vehicle was later recovered in Wheaton.
