WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – A liberal website is looking to help Democrats score the “slut” vote in November.

“Rock The Slut Vote” – a website created by study guide publisher Susan McMillan Emry – looks to “fight the GOP effort to bully, subjugate and silence women.”

“Our website’s mission is to encourage women and men to get educated on the issues, particularly about their local candidates,” Emry told CBSDC.

The website, created March 22, was in response to several women’s rights incidents earlier this year – including the Komen Foundation initially pulling its funds for Planned Parenthood and Rush Limbaugh calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” for her stance on contraception at religious-based institutions.

“Within a few days (after the launch) we had hundreds of women and men sign-up to ‘Enlist in the fight against the GOP war on women,’” Emry told CBSDC. “Today, we have nearly 2,000 people. Our Facebook page is where most of the action is. We are nearing 3,000 members and growing quickly.”

Emry created a “slut” checklist on the website, listing you might be a slut “if you are a liberal,” “if you don’t go to church,” “if you are a Republican who rejects the war on women,” and “if you’ve ever used contraception,” among many others.

“It’s clear (Republicans) use words like ‘slut’ to try to shame women into staying quiet about issues involving reproductive rights and sex,” Emry told The Daily Caller. “Regrettably, from the legislation and the public remarks the GOP and their spokesmen make, they give the clear message that any woman who doesn’t share their point of view is tainted as a slut. Our mission is to take all the power from the label ‘slut’ and defuse it with equal measures of humor and outrage.”

Emry is hoping to turn the “whole USA blue in 2012,” but is not backing any specific candidates in November.

“We do encourage everyone to learn all they can about local, state and national issues, and to know all they can about the candidates who are running,” Emry told CBSDC. “Of course, most of the women and men who are concerned with the relentless attack on women’s rights lean toward Democrat, liberal and independent candidates.”

Kirsten Kukowksi, press secretary for the Republican National Committee, told CBSDC that women should be turning their attention to helping defeat President Obama.

“Since Barack Obama was elected, the unemployment rate among women has gone up to 8.1 percent and fewer woman make up the work force today than four years ago,” Kukowski told CBSDC. “Women in Obama’s economy are suffering at disproportionate levels.”
