D.C. Superior Court Prepares To Swear In New Obama-Nominated Judge

WASHINGTON (AP) — Superior Court in Washington is preparing for a swearing in ceremony for a new judge.

Danya Dayson will be sworn in at a ceremony on Friday. Dyson was nominated by President Barack Obama in July 2011 and confirmed by the Senate in November.

Dayson was born in New York City and raised in Chapel Hill, N.C. She graduated from Appalachian State University and received a law degree from Georgetown in 1998. Since then she has practiced criminal law and family law in Washington and is also an adjunct professor at the George Washington University School of Law.
