WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins have re-signed free agent linebacker Chris Wilson.

Wilson originally played for the Redskins from 2007 to 2010 following a two-year stint in the Canadian Football League. He notched four sacks in his rookie season in the NFL.

Following four seasons in Washington, Wilson signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an unrestricted free agent. However, he was cut last Sept. 2 and spent the 2011 season out of football.

His last appearance in the league came in 2010. Redskins coaches credited Wilson with 13 tackles as well as 17 special teams tackles that season.

The 29-year-old is a product of Northwood (Mich.) University, where he earned first-team All-GLIAC honors and was named first-team NAIA All-American by the American Football Coaches Association.
