After Caps fans complained to the Junks on Monday about NBC’s possibly bias announcing crew, producer Matt Valdez put together a collection of calls from Game 6 so the show could determine whether the NBC team was more excited when the Boston Bruins scored.
Doc Emrick, Eddie Olczyk, Pierre McGuire called the game Sunday with Emrick doing the play-by-play. Best-selling author John Feinstein even called in to blast the Caps fans for complaining that the announcing team favors Boston.
Here are all seven goals. Do you notice any difference in the level of excitement when the Bruins score?
The Junkies immediately said that the calls sounded the same all the way around and perhaps there is no bias. They do believe studio analyst Mike Milbury has it for Washington though. Earlier in the year, he blamed Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin for getting Bruce Boudreau fired. Milbury said ” “Alexander Ovechkin and his sidekick Alex Semin killed their coach. Chalk one up for the bad guys.”
