Capitals center Jay Beagle joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan Monday after winning game two of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals in Boston the even the series 1-1 against the Bruins.
Beagle has been crucial in controlling the face-offs, which ultimately led to Niklas Backstrom’s double overtime goal. Beagle claims it’s game-planning and getting low which allows him to win a high percentage of them (11 of 17 in Game 2).
“I like to go into the circle first and establish where I want my stick on the dot,” Beagle said. ”The main thing is for me, is I try to keep it simple, I just try to reach for the top of the circle as hard as I can and once the puck is dropped and try to pull hard backwards.”
