WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Police in the District are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest related to a shooting that occurred at a Rite Aid convenience store on Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast on Friday.
The suspect shot a store employee in the back during a robbery attempt around 12:30 p.m.
Police describe the suspect as a clean-shaven black male in his mid-40′s to mid-50′s with a medium complexion and thin build. The man was last seen wearing an off-white or khaki baseball cap, red hooded zipper sweatshirt with a black shirt underneath, black sweatpants and black shoes.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information which leads to the arrest and conviction.
