Robert Griffin III was in town this week. Who knows why or for how long. All we know is he was at The Palm in Tysons Corner with Dan Snyder, Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen. Prior to that, he was here a little over a week ago in Chantilly signing Redskins helmets for throngs of people at a memorabilia convention.

There is a love fest going on here.

Kyle Shanahan is flying back and forth to Texas to meet with RGIII and obviously give him a head start on the offense and any camp preparations. He’s flying here for card shows and not so secret meetings with the Redskins brain trust.

Have you ever seen the potential No. 2 pick being pursued like this? I can’t remember a case although I’m sure it’s happened.

But my God the longer this public courting goes on… the more I’m falling in love with this guy.

What’s not to love? He’s got an amazing skill set. His personality is incredible. He says all the right respectful things. He’s even got that Magic Johnson like smile that is impossible not to embrace.

I love this man. We must get him. I can hardly wait until draft day.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Andrew Luck is going to be an amazing pro. I’m not even suggesting that RGIII is better. All I know is if the Indianapolis Colts did in fact throw us a curveball and take RGIII with the first overall pick, I’ll be crushed. I’ll feel like one of those chicks on The Bachelor waiting for the dreamy guy to get down on one knee and propose and he picks the other girl.

Not that RGIII has anything to do with this.

Although the report that came out this week that he turned down a request to work out for the Colts privately did please me greatly. Even if it’s not true it makes me feel like he loves us the way we do him.

The ball is in the Colts’ court and all signs point to them taking Andrew Luck. They fell in love with him long before we
fell in love with RGIII.

Let’s just hope it stays that way.
