WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Authorities say four people were thrown from rented paddleboats into Washington’s Tidal Basin when the boats were pushed up against a bridge abutment amid windy conditions.
D.C. fire officials helped employees of the paddleboat company pull the people from the water Monday afternoon. One person was taken to a hospital as a precaution, but there were no serious injuries.
Wind gusts of 30 mph or greater were forecasted for Monday.
