WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Police in the District are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who robbed a 7-Eleven store in Northeast on Thursday.

Around 1:52 a.m. a man walked into the store on in the 2500 block of Benning Road, NE. He told the clerk the had a weapon under his shirt and ordered them to lay on the ground.

After the clerk complied, the suspect stole a number of cigarette packs and left the location.

Because of the threat of a weapon, police are classifying the crime as Robbery Fear.
 
The suspect is identified as a black male in his 30’s, standing 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8 inches tall with a light complexion. He was wearing a tan hat, green windbreaker jacket and glasses at the time of the robbery.

Police ask that anyone with information about the case call 202-727-9099 or text a message to 50411.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction in the case.
