WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Scientists are questioning whether there is a link between cell phone use and brain cancer among kids and teens.
Some environmentalists believe cell phone usage actually doubles the risk a child will develop cancer.
However, a large study conducted last July in Europe found no link between two and ABC News Chief Health and Medical Editor Dr. Richard Besser concurs.
He also felt the environmentalists’ challenge of the study was important, even though he didn’t agree with their assessment.
“Whenever a study comes out you want to see these challenges,” Dr. Besser explained. “You want groups who are skeptical to say, ‘Did you get it right?’ And that’s what’s going on.”
