Police Investigating Murder Of 17-Year-Old Brandon Lee Wiggins In Landover

LANDOVER, Md. (CBSDC) — Prince George’s County Police are investigating the murder of 17-year-old Brandon Lee Wiggins.

Officers found Wiggins suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1600 block of Brightseat Road in Landover, Md. around 1:00 a.m. on March 31. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The scene of the shooting was in close proximity to FedEx Field.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Wiggins, who lived in the 6300 block of Skillman Street in Capitol Heights, was involved in a gun battle with another individual during what was believed to be a robbery attempt.

Detectives are investigating whether the robbery attempt was drug-related.

Authorities have identified the shooter who is cooperating with investigators.

Prince George’s County experienced a rash of homicides over the weekend.
