NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — Police are investigating a suspected methamphetamine lab that was found in a dormitory room at Christopher Newport University.

Media outlets report that authorities evacuated the Wilson residence hall Friday evening after police found a substance in one of the rooms.

Christopher Newport officials say items recovered from the room are being analyzed by a lab in Norfolk.

CNU spokeswoman Lori Jacobs said Wilson Hall was evacuated at 6:48 p.m. She called the suspected lab a “mobile meth lab” reports WAVY-TV.
