WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Metropolitan police have charged a Maryland man with murder in a 2005 shooting death in northeast.
Twenty-six-year-old Jamel Callis, of Temple Hills, Md. was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree murder while armed.
Callis is accused of killing 31-year-old James Presley Harris of Washington.
Police responded to the 4500 block of Quarles Street NE around 12:40 a.m. on Sept. 2, 2005. Emergency personnel found no signs of life in Harris who sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Callis was taken into custody shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday.
