HYATTSVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) — Shots rang out at a BP gas station in the 7900 block of Riggs Road in Hyattsville Tuesday afternoon.
Prince George’s County Police say two people were shot in the incident. The victims were transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
A short time after responding to the call, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of one driven by the suspects. The suspects were then apprehended and gun was also recovered.
A one-year-old child was found in the backseat of the vehicle. The child was in good condition according to PG Police Corporal Larry Johnson.
An officer sustained minor injuries during the investigation when he cut his arm on a broken windshield.
A motive for the gas station shooting is unclear.
