FORESTVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) — The Prince George’s County Police Department, in conjunction with Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union, will be conducting car seat check-up on Saturday at Forestville Military Academy in Forestville.

The inspection is free and open to the public and appointments are not necessary.

Certified car seat technicians will check for recalled seats, ensure that child passenger seats and boosters are installed correctly and that the harness and vehicle installation are correct for the child.

The inspections last about 30 minutes and drivers, parents and caretakers are expected to participate in the process.

The Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union will replace the first five car seats that have been recalled or have been deemed unsafe.

Authorities ask all car seats be installed upon arrival at the car seat check-up site.
