UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (CBSDC) — 34 students from Frederick Douglas High School in Upper Marlboro were taken to the hospital after three school buses collided Monday afternoon after classes had dismissed for the day.

Authorities say there were two low speed rear end collisions as the three buses waited in line for traffic at Route 301.

A total of 75 students were treated for injuries on the scene, with the bulk of the students injured complaining of neck and back pain.

Both the accident and the injuries were described as minor.

School officials were arranging alternate transportation home for the uninjured students on the buses.
