WASHINGTON (AP) — Officials say drivers in Washington should expect delays and road closures on Saturday due to the National Marathon.
The race on Saturday stretches from near RFK Stadium, through downtown and city neighborhoods. Streets from Anacostia to Columbia Heights and from Foggy Bottom to Capitol Hill will be affected.
Officials say road closures on the race route will begin as early as 3 a.m.
Metro will open an hour early at 6 a.m. Saturday. Still, there will be delays on Metro with trains single tracking on the orange, blue and green lines.
There will be a tremendous amount of temporary road closures throughout the day Saturday, some for longer periods of time than others. For the full list of closures to be sure you don’t run into a wall of D.C. traffic, click here.
