VRE Holds Public Hearings On Proposed Fare Hike

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — Virginia Railway Express is holding public hearings to discuss a proposed 3 percent fare increase.

If the fare hike is approved, it would go into effect the first week of July.

At noon on Wednesday, a hearing will be held at the Holiday Inn on C Street in southwest Washington. There will also be a hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Potomac Rappahannock Transportation Commission on Potomac Mills Road in Woodbridge.

Public hearings are also scheduled for later this month in Manassas, Arlington, Burke and Stafford.
