WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — D.C. United defender Ethan White has undergone surgery on his right knee and will be sidelined for about six weeks.

United said Wednesday that White has a meniscus repair in the knee and should fully recover.

General Manager Dave Kasper expects he will be able to contribute on a daily basis upon his return.

White played in 24 games with 21 starts last year in his rookie season with United.
