WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — As it turns out, Eddie Royal is in demand.
Shortly after the free agency period, multiple sources informed 106.7 The Fan the Washington Redskins had reached an agreement with the wide receiver.
Then something changed.
As of late Tuesday, negotiations between the two parties were still ongoing. One source at the team is still expressing optimism that the deal will reached.
Royal has strong ties to the area, having played at South Lakes High School and Paul VI High School in Fairfax as well as Westfield High School in Chantilly. He played collegiately at Virginia Tech.
The Broncos drafted him in the second-round of the 2008 NFL Draft with the 42nd pick overall.
The Redskins previously signed former Indianapolis Colts receiver Pierre Garcon and are reportedly on the verge of signing Josh Morgan from the San Francisco 49ers.
Defensive end Adam Carriker also re-signed with the team.
106.7 The Fan will have 36 continuous live coverage of start of the NFL free agency period.
