WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — The Chicago Bears have reached an agreement with former Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell.
The financial terms of the agreement were not immediately available.
Campbell is expected to be Jay Cutler’s backup.
He was also expected to visit the Kansas City Chiefs, a visit that will not occur now.
Campbell had a difficult tenure in Oakland having been dubbed the starting quarterback, but spent most of his time on the bench either due to injury or because coaches felt Bruce Gradkowski was the better option.
After breaking his collarbone last season, the Raiders scrambled and traded for Carson Palmer which signaled the end of his stay with the franchise.
Campbell’s new deal was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
