GAITHERSBURG (CBSDC) — Montgomery County Police arrested a man and a woman for an armed street robbery that occurred early Saturday morning in Gaithersburg.

Authorities say 21-year-old Ronda A. Fitzpatrick of Chevy Chase pulled a small black handgun on a white female around 3 a.m. on March 11 near the intersection of Goshen Road and Girard Street. The victim gave Fitzpatrick her purse and was not hurt in the incident.

Fitzpatrick fled the scene on foot.

The victim was able to provide police with Fitzpatrick’s description shortly after the crime occurred.

A short time later, an officer observed a woman fitting her description getting into a cab a short distance from the location of the robbery. She was arrested along with a man in her company.

Police say the man, identified as 22-year old Danylo Demidenko of Derwood, watched the robbery from a short distance away.

Fitzpatrick was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. She is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
