Va. Teen In Stolen Mercedes Leads Police In Chase, Strikes Three Cruisers
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (CBSDC) — A 17-year-old male is under arrest following a police chase through Prince William County in which three Virginia State Police vehicles were struck.
Police say the teenager from Alexandria was driving a Mercedes that had been reported stolen in Fairfax County.
A state trooper pulled the vehicle over for speeding around exit 44 on Interstate 66 around 3 p.m. Monday. After stopping initially, the driver then sped off, exiting the interstate in favor of Route 234.
He then got back on I-66 heading in the westbound direction at which point he struck one of the police vehicles according to 9News Now.
Prior to the end of the chase two more police cruisers were struck.
No injuries were reported as a result of the chase.
The teen has been charged with reckless driving, driving on a revoked license, possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding police, a felony.
