Man Shot In Chest At IHOP In Columbia Heights
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Police in the District are investigating an early morning shooting that occurred at an IHOP restaurant on Irving Street, near the Columbia Heights Metro station in Northwest.
One man was shot in the upper torso around 6:30 a.m. and authorities are looking for two suspects– a man and woman — who fled the scene.
The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
The restaurant had a slightly smaller crowd than usual at the time of the shooting due to daylight savings time change.
The shooter is described as a black male, roughly 6-feet-1 with dreadlocks. The woman is described as having a light-skinned complexion and a heavyset build.
