WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins and St. Louis Rams confirmed they have reached a trade agreement for the second overall pick in this year’s draft.
In exchange for the pick, the Redskins will reportedly send three first-round picks, including this season, and a second-round pick to the Rams.
The move is expected to make Robert Griffin III the team’s franchise quarterback.
“In order to execute each of our club’s plans for free agency and the upcoming draft, we have agreed to a trade between our two teams for the 2nd pick in the 2012 draft,” the joint statement read. “We will submit this trade to the NFL for approval.”
