Hugo Yupe Identified As Murder Victim In Aspen Hill Shooting; Two Suspects Charged

ASPEN HILL, Md. (CBSDC) — Montgomery County Police have identified 21-year-old Hugo Yupe as the person fatally shot inside an Aspen Hill home on Wednesday.

Authorities charged two men involved in the incident early Thursday morning.

Police charged 20-year-old Christopher Edwards of the 13200 block of Superior Street in Rockville, with one count of second degree murder and one count of reckless endangerment. He is currently being held without bond.

19-year-old Andrew Ramos of no fixed address was also charged with one count of reckless endangerment and is currently being held on a $20,000 bond.

Both suspects have a bond review hearing scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Rockville District Court.

Authorities say Yupe, who lived in Rockville, was shot around 3 p.m. Wednesday inside a residence in the 13200 block of Superior Street in Aspen Hill. He was already deceased when police arrived.

The two suspects were present inside the home at the time of the shooting, but a motive and the circumstances surrounding the homicide are still unclear.

Ramos fled the scene before police arrived but was taken into custody later that evening. Edwards remained at the scene.

    this is just a damn shame that all this happened but my question is why did his mother let him keep any type of firearm in the house to begin with? hope all turns out well but knowing the moco judicial system I have my doubts
