HILO, Hawaii (AP) — A Big Island radio station is no longer airing the Rush Limbaugh show after he called a law student a “slut” for her testimony in support of birth control coverage in her college health plan.

KPUA AM 670 in Hilo canceled the show Monday as advertisers nationwide such as AOL And Tax Resolution Services Co. abandoned the three-hour program.

New West Broadcasting President and General Manager Chris Leonard says the decision was made over the weekend. He says if one of the station’s disc jockeys had made such comments, that person would have been fired and he didn’t want to hold a syndicated program to a different standard.

He says Limbaugh’s comments “crossed a line of decency” and that he’s not considering bringing the show back in the future.

This 30 year old female got up in front of Congress and described how she was so promiscuous she was going broke buying birth control because the CATHOLIC university she chose to attend doesn’t pay for it, and she wants the American people to pay for it instead? Limbaugh’s choice of words was accurate albeit politically-incorrect and he is now paying the price. And those who rag on Limbaugh are being incredible hypocrites considering how Bill Maher (a million-dollar Obama donor) used far worse language (t**t,c**t, etc.) to describe Palin, Bachmann, and other high profile conservative women. Where is the outrage against Maher?
    INCREDIBLE double-stabdard!

yeah LIMPBALLS is such a stellar individual… he paid for his own OXYCONTIN and VIAGRA!!!! he just had other people BUY it FOR him!!!

    2. stillunderthecar says:

I Bet Sandra Fluke could sell FAR MORE mattresses than Limbaugh could ever hope. Those mattress companies are missing are sure bet.

    3. Bidwell says:

Didn’t Obama refer to the Tea Party as Tea Baggers? Birth certificate skeptics as birthers, Had rappers and poets at the White House who espouse hate and racism, etc, etc, etc.
Using the stations logic, they shouldn’t air anything Obama or democrat.

  2. cs says:

LOL where were the left’s calls of shock and dismass when Bush as POTUS was called a Nazi!!!
ALso, Rush is not running for ofice and has the right to say what we wants. Fluke is a flake and wants the rest of us to pay for her sex………….I think maybe Rush was to nice when I was in school we called those girls scanks

  3. Russ says:

II can not imagine expecting the someone else to pay for my sex needs. Whats more I could not stand up before a group of people and admit that my recreational activities consisted of many sexual activities as this female did. I wonder if she gets paid by her partners in sex to provide her sexual activities. What do they call someone who does that? Mr Limbaugh was probably correct in his opinion, but could have used some other word to describe this woman.

  4. Peter says:

And don’t forget how Obama laughed at the inauguration when that flake “comedienne” said she hoped Rush died of kidney failure. Real classy, Barack!

  5. robert m says:

Flake was a plant. She enrolled to promote birth control. Other time she has pushed gender identity coverage. Her university is full of rich kids. They can afford the pill.
Where are the screamers, posters and boycotters of Palin and Bush. Or Palin’s kid?
Organized mayhem for our radical leader intent on destroying the USA.
Replace Rush and watch him move elsewhere.

  6. Stan Davis says:

Limbaugh is an idiot. You don’t say what he said on national radio, even though it’s true. Limbaugh has been going downhill for years. I hope he retires so we can get somebody good to take over his timeslot. Billy Cunningham or Mike Gallagher would be excellent! It’s time for the big “ass” on the right to fade of into the sunset.

    1. ruckus says:

Have you read the news. Many of Rush’s ad customers want to come back. In addition , he has picked up three new large accounts. It seems that the companies that dropped him like Cryptonite, are getting a lot of angry emails.

    2. CJ says:

I can tell by your choices for replacement that you don’t have a clue.

  7. Snitch-in-Time says:

Thanks to Satellite radio, pod casts, and short wave, this weak, sniveling, self annointed media gate keeper and others like him, will become less and less relevant. Rush will continue, grow, and I suspect prosper greatly for having the courage of his convictions to call it as he sees it day after day. As for the weak kneed sponsors, they will eventually go broke, not because of dropping Rush, but because such cowardice eventually leads to the kind of disasterous business decisions that ultimately kill businesses run by intellectual lightweights and moral cowards.

  8. MainelyDoc says:

I wish I owned a radio station in Hawaii!! I’d sign up with Limbaugh in a heart beat.

  9. Newbern W Johnson says:

Rush will be back in Hawaii. The letters from his listerners will pour in and the station will cave.

  10. Kevin says:

I’m sure a different radio station has snapped up the syndication rights already. This is SUCH a freaking non-story.

  11. Rush Fan says:

This station GM will regret his silly liberal decision when Rush appears on one of his competitor’s stations and dominates his time period.

    Liberalism is a mental disorder.

carbonite’s stock droped 12% on their anouncement.
