WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — All News 99.1 WNEW has obtained a list of the 24 most dangerous intersections for pedestrians crashes over the past three years as identified by the District Department of Transportation.

It is estimated that 10 percent of D.C. residents commute to work on foot. In 2011, there were nearly 660 pedestrian accidents with 16 fatalities.

WNEW reporter Karen Adams spent Monday afternoon at the intersection of New York Ave. and North Capitol Street in Northwest. She said it was easy to see why it made the list.
