McLEAN, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — Wednesday is the last day to put your suggested names in for Metro’s future Silver Line locations.
Fairfax County and the agency that runs Metrorail are conducting an online survey to help name the eight new stations to be built in the county on the new Silver Line.
Phase One of the project runs through Tysons Corner to Reston and is expected to be completed in 2013. Phase Two still needs final approvals but would include three stations in Fairfax County and three in Loudoun County, including one at Dulles Airport.
The county Board of Supervisors has already recommended names. Those who take the survey can vote for those names, or one of several alternatives. Write-in votes are also permitted.
Metro says it wants station names that are relevant, brief, unique and evocative.
The survey runs through March 21. To participate, click here.
