WOODBRIDGE, Va. (CBSDC) — Teachers are protesting along Prince William Parkway over what they feel are injustices in the Prince William County Schools budget.
Last month, the school board unveiled its new budget which included no pay raises for the next three school years.
Outraged, a group of teachers previously outlined plans to only work during scheduled school hours and not make themselves available for before or after school tutoring or other activities unless compensated. The current teacher contracts call for a seven-hour work day.
Despite the lack of financial increases, it appears job security is not a factor. The budget states staffing levels will remain the same over the three-year span.
