Each day this week, WNEW’s Cheryl Simone will sit down with a leader in the region to discuss the life and legacy of a leader in the African American community.

In this installment, Prince George’s County executive Rushern Baker spoke with Cheryl about critically acclaimed author Richard Wright.

Wright’s works, including Black Boy, were sometimes construed as controversial, but accurately depicted the plight of African Americans during their struggle for civil rights and equality.
