WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — More people in the District subscribe to a website that helps facilitate extra-marital affairs than any other city in the country on a per capita basis.

D.C. has nearly 38,000 registered users on AshleyMadison.com, The Washington Post reports.

That number continues to climb at a steady rate. Noel Biderman, CEO of Avid Life Media, parent company of Ashley Madison, estimates 30 D.C. residents sign up for the website each day.

What is it about the nation’s capital that makes it more prone to straying than other cities?

“Simply put, the more successful you are, the more prone to cheating you are, and Washington is full of successful people looking for something outside their marriage,” Biderman told the Post.

The website has approximately 13 million total users.
