CSN’s Caps analyst Craig Laughlin joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan and reiterated that the Capitals are in dire straights and could miss the playoffs with 23 games to go in the NHL season.
When asked point-blank if the Caps would make the playoffs, the Locker said, “The way they’re playing now? No.”
The speculation moving forward if the team does not reach the post season is who should be held accountable.
“If they don’t make the playoffs, and this is the end of a five-year plan, you have to look at the moves that were made. And a guy in Edmonton told it the best ‘We’re going to do an autopsy of the team’ and the autopsy of the team has to start at the top and go through everybody,” Laughlin said.
