Laughlin: Caps Could Miss Playoffs

CSN’s Caps analyst Craig Laughlin joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan and reiterated that the Capitals are in dire straights and could miss the playoffs with 23 games to go in the NHL season.

When asked point-blank if the Caps would make the playoffs, the Locker said, “The way they’re playing now? No.”

The speculation moving forward if the team does not reach the post season is who should be held accountable.

“If they don’t make the playoffs, and this is the end of a five-year plan, you have to look at the moves that were made.  And a guy in Edmonton told it the best ‘We’re going to do an autopsy of the team’  and the autopsy of the team has to start at the top and go through everybody,”  Laughlin said.

disappointed in the caps. there needs to be complete overhaul in the whole organization. i felt bruce bodreau got outcoached when playoffs came but dale hunter is not the answer. ovechkin will always live in sidney crosby’s shadow and i can tell it eats him up. hate to say it but ovie’s washed up now, he never comes up big in games that matter. when he was once great, it was mostly through garbage time. lack of effort from most of the other players. management overpaid for non-producing players that we can’t get rid of now. there is alot of blame to go around. and my jersey sits in my closet for another year and now the drought begins.
