Profootballtalk’s Mike Florio joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan and talked about what to expect out of the quarterback position in Washington.
Many Skins fans are eager to jettison Rex Grossman from the roster, however the likely scenario of him lingering around is if Redskins brass draft a young quarterback this April.
“I think [Rex] could be a valuable backup to a rookie from the standpoint of helping the rookie learn the system and understand what to do,” Florio said. ”he seems to be willing to be a good soldier and I don’t think he’s going to have any other options. You know, the guy was on the open market for several days last august and nobody called,” he added.
With the Colts drafting Andrew Luck and the next best QB prospect being Robert Griffin III, Florio sees the scenario of Cleveland trading up, using their two first-round picks to acquire St. Louis’ second pick, playing out.
